Preparation involves mixing all these ingredients in a bowl and marinating the chicken thighs in the mixture.
Next, slice up some cucumber and soak up the water using paper towels. Add the dried cucumber pieces to another bowl of greek yoghurt and put in some garlic, lemon juice, dill, parsley, salt, and pepper; mix thoroughly until combined and refrigerate this mixture for 30 minutes. Now, bake your marinated chicken thighs for about 2 hours at 200 degrees Celsius. Once done, you can serve it on a greek pita, served with onions, tomatoes, tzatziki and fries. 2. Chicken Souvlaki Pita
Souvlaki pitas are another traditional Greek dish you see everywhere! You can use chicken or other kind of meat for this recipe, but it should be easy to marinate. However, in restaurants, chicken is the most popular meat option for this dish.
To prepare, start by cutting chicken cutlets into small pieces and mixing them with the following ingredients in a bowl: garlic, lime juice, salt, pepper, oregano, lemon juice, yoghurt, and olive oil. You’ll also prepare the toppings separately using tomatoes, onions, and parsley. Grill the marinated chicken for some 45 minutes. Once the chicken is ready, it’s time to build your pita. To do this, rub olive oil on the pita and heat it slightly to get a golden brown colour. Place your chicken and the other toppings on the pita and roll the sandwich.
3. Stuffed Grape Leaves
To prepare this amazing dish, also known as dolmades or dolmas, place the grape leaves in a jar, add hot water, and let it sit for 10 minutes. Chop up some parsley, mint, dill, and onion. Put ground beef into a separate bowl and add your chopped leaves and onions, plus some cooked rice. Add salt, black pepper, olive oil, and water to this mix, then mix the content until combined. Make small meat rolls from the mix and wrap them in the grape leaves. Set these carefully in a pot and place lemon slices on them. Cover the rolls with a plate, so they don’t turn over when you boil the stuffed leaves in water. Once the contents are cooked, your dish is ready to serve.

1. Tzatziki Sauce
For this creamy cucumber yoghurt dip/sauce, you need to obtain the flesh and flavour from the cucumber. Grate it into a dish and stir in a pinch of salt to help get the water out; let it sit for 10–15 minutes. You’ll use paper towels later to rid it of excess water. Add the cucumber to a bowl of Greek yoghurt. Next, introduce some finely chopped garlic and cayenne, and finish with a good amount of lemon juice. Mix the components until combined, then add some chopped-up dill, mint, or parsley leaves. Finally, add some salt and pepper. It can be served with bread, pitas, crackers, etc.
To make this traditional flavour-packed pastry dish, put water in a pot and add plenty of sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely, then add lemon juice and turn off the heat. Next, scoop some butter into a small pan and pour vegetable oil over the butter after it’s melted. Now, cut up several filo pastry pieces according to the dimension of the trays you’ll use later. Be sure to divide the filo pieces into two bunches.
Grease your tray with the oil and butter mixture and lay the pastry piece evenly on the tray. Also, rub the oil mixture on this first layer of filo. From here, rub on the oil after every two filo layers. After laying one bunch of pastry, spread a layer of minced pistachio on the pastry and finish by laying out the remaining filo. After this, use a sharp knife to cut crisscross patterns in the filo pastry. Add more oil to the surface before transferring your baking tray to the oven. Let it cook for 30 minutes before serving.
